New X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave pics

Latest pictures of  Havok, Phoenix, Deadpool in X-Men Legends wave

It’s an exciting time to be an X-Men and Marvel Legends collector. If all goes according to plan — mostly Internet rumors — by the end of the year, we could have two waves of X-Men Marvel Legends. Checking off some major names like Phoenix, Havok, Deadpool and Rogue on the X-Men side of the display would make for a pretty successful year all by itself for the Marvel Legend brand.

Today, retailers got new promo pics of the first wave revealing which pieces of the Build a Figure Juggernaut they will include. Hasbro again is impressing with the number of extras and smart additional accessories. Per the norm for a figure collector though, I had a few more selections that were omitted. [irp]

Cable’s had a lot of looks. I’m not really that thrilled about this figure, but he’s an important enough character that he’s a must-get. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave -Cable

Rogue continues to look like another gem in the set. Rumor has it she also has an exposed hand to simulate Rogue stealing powers. That’s a nice touch. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave - Rogue

Phoenix looks like she’s missing something. Good thing I kept the Phoenix base from the Toy Biz figure. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave - Phoenix

And I would have loved if Havok and Iceman had additional head sculpts. In both cases, a more traditional classic style. Havok’s rings of Saturn style head piece really helped distinguish him from the rest of the X-Men. This modern outfit is a nice homage to the original costume, but I still would have liked the actual classic head. That could have worked well for an X-Men Outback team since Havok was a pivotal member of that beloved incarnation of the group. The energy blasts for Havok powering up looks to be completely new and is really well done. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave -Havok

It was odd Iceman didn’t get the same kind of effect though. Like Havok, I wish he’d gotten a classic square head instead of the more modern hair spikes. With any luck, this Hasbro version will be able to use the Toy Biz Iceman’s ice slide. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave -Iceman

Kitty Pride looks fantastic. I’m still hoping we eventually see a Shadowcat version, but for a modern take, it’s hard to see where anyone could complain about this figure. Plus, she’s got Lockheed! And the Onslaught head to use in place of the Red Skull head on the BAF Onslaught set. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave - Kitty Pride

Wolverine’s extendable and retracted claws was a smart accessory. Hopefully pulling the hands off won’t damage the claws in any fashion. X-Men Marvel Legends BAF Juggernaut wave -Wolverine
