Meet the new voices of Madden NFL 17
Phil Simms and Jim Nance won’t be detailing the exploits of Madden NFL 17 players.
Instead, EA has tabbed the duo of Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis to call the action. If you’re a regular NFL Network viewer you’re familiar with Davis, who also provides expert analysis on FOX.
Gaudin, the lead college football play-by-play voice for Westwood One Sports, is joining the Big Ten Network as a play-by-play announcer this fall.
According to EA, this year’s game also features the opportunity to add commentary updates throughout the NFL season on Xbox One and PlayStation®4.
I always like hearing actual NFL broadcasters providing the commentary. John Madden and Pat Summerall providing the voice work for the old school Madden games helped lend credence to the ‘in the game’ mantra.
Still, I’m intrigued at the commentary updates. Could that mean Madden will reflect in-season developments, trends and coaching/personnel changes? Sounds like it could be interesting.
What do you think of the switch? Like it or wish EA stuck to what was working before?
