Dead Rising makes next-gen comeback
As an unashamed zombie fighting fan, I loved the Dead Rising series. Combining random items to smash, wallop and electrocute zombies never got old in Capcom’s other zombie-focused property. Hard to believe it’s already been 10 years since the first game. To celebrate, Capcom is re-releasing the series on current game systems.
That means we’re getting Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for Xbox One and Playstation 4. All three games will be available on digital download Sept. 13 throughout North America and Europe. If you prefer the physical copy, you’ll be able to grab physical copies of the first two games in North America.
The first game is available Sept. 13. Don’t worry about a long wait for part 2 as that arrives in stores Sept. 27. You can also pre-order the special Triple Pack with all three games for $49.99.
Capcom is no slacker when it comes to enhancing the graphics of older games. All three will reportedly run at 1080p at 60fps. I’m still waiting to get confirmation on this part, but Capcom’s press releases states all the additional DLC costumes will also be included. Whether those additions are available right away or if they’ll have to be earned through playing the games wasn’t clear.
In one of the rare exclusives that bites PlayStation 4 owners, Dead Rising 4 featuring Frank West is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 on Dec. 6. If this plays out like the third game, this is an exclusive title not an exclusive release date for Xbox owners.
