Spider-Man wants to be an Avenger in Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer
The new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer dropped tonight. This is one of the 2017 films I don’t need any hype, teasers or series of trailers. I’m sold already and everything else is just icing. But man, when the icing features Spider-Man and Iron Man zooming around, it sure is tasty.
Michael Keaton’s Vulture costume doesn’t look half bad. I’m really looking forward to seeing how he’s handled in the film as he’s an underrated Spider-Man foe. And Keaton already looks like he’s going to make Vulture a formidable villain.
If the trailer is any indication, the Zendaya as Mary Jane rumors can officially be put to rest unless she’s getting a glam makeover midway through the film.
I’m hoping that the trailer showed the majority of Robert Downey Jr.’s scenes. Tony Stark/Iron Man doesn’t need to make too many appearances or he’ll overshadow Tom Holland’s pitch perfect Spider-Man. It was great seeing Jon Favreau reprise his role as Happy Hogan. His supporting role was certainly missed in the Avengers films.
There was definitely the sense this is going to be a superhero high school movie. That’s the ideal setting for Spider-Man and maybe the film will actually include a homecoming event to showcase the old Parker luck.
Homecoming gets the prime summer spot with a release date of July 7. That makes it the middle film of the main Marvel films. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out in May and Thor: Raganarok comes out in November. While I’m stoked for Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War to kick off in 2018, I’ve got high hopes that these three will help me pass the time by with no problem.
