DC Collectibles is always exploring new avenues to interpret the characters from the DC Universe. Some are really fantastic while others get killed off before they find an audience. I’m excited about this new DC Artist Alley line as it features some pretty cool stylistic versions of DC’s heroes.

Of the statues unveiled at the Five Points Festival, Chris Uminga’s takes on DC’s Trinity really caught my eye. The line in general looks cool, but there’s something classic and interesting about those statues.
According to DCC, DC Artist Alley is inspired by the comic convention experience with an artist focus vinyl line combining indie designs and DC characters.
Designs will include illustrator Chris Uminga’s offbeat interpretations of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Barcelonian-bred artist, Sho Murase’s stylish designs for Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. And HaiNaNu ‘Nooligan’ Saulque’s exaggerated designs on The Joker, Batman and Harley Quinn. Each figure will also be accompanied by a print showcasing its original artwork.
Be on the lookout for the detailed, limited edition PVC figures in 2018. Each artist will have three statues with more artists bringing their unique takes to DC in the future.
‘The motivation to create a line celebrating radical new artists stems from years of visiting cons and being impressed by the raw talent and artwork on display,’ said Jim Fletcher, Executive Creative Director, DC Collectibles in a statement. ‘When we decided to launch DC Artist Alley, we approached visionaries we felt would best represent the line, while bringing their own creative signature to our classic characters.’
