Coyotes #2

New Image series Coyotes started off with a bang as it hinted towards sexism and abolishing gender roles in its fantasy delivery and the newest addition to the series is no exception. #2 starts of with the reveal that the coyotes preying on women are actually men who can shapeshift. Red connects with a police officer to discover the origins of a doll in the possession of Duchess but perhaps the police officer won’t be the only one to save her.

Coyotes is definitely one of the best releases of the year with its fresh and dark world starring Latino women. This issue is perhaps its most darkest yet with its implications towards Duchess herself and Red’s stumbling into lifelike dolls. Coyotes #2 even leaves a treat at the end centering Duchess and her grim backstory that’ll leaves fans desiring more.

Coyotes is definitely a series I’ll be looking forward to reading in 2018. — Pierre Brown
