Green Lanterns #40

green lanterns #40

Sam Humphries has been slowly getting more and more comfortable on his new Green Lanterns gig. Superhuman Trafficking seems like Humphries has settled nicely into his groove and is putting a few unique spin on the adventures of Baz and Cruz.
Baz clues Cruz in to the superhero dating app Caper, but now it seems some users have gone missing and it’s up to the Lanterns to track them down.

Humphries seems to foreshadow a change in the Baz and Cruz dynamic. I hope it’s a tease and not something he wants to further explore. Changing that partnership runs the risk of playing out too much like a sitcom.

Barbaby Bagenda’s artwork was fine. Some facial expressions and panels were soft and lacked detail, but overall the art is adequate. The editor seemed to miss some questionable inclusions like Power Girl, who as of this point, isn’t back in the regular DCU.

I like the overall direction of this story as it’s one that’s uniquely suited for Baz and Cruz. Humphries has the chance to craft a really fun storyline here and it should be a blast seeing where he takes it.
