This tournament just got interesting. It’s time to break down the March Bashness 2018 2nd round winners and it did not play out at all like I expected. Let’s see who you voted to advance.
North Region
(1) The Dudley Boyz vs. (4) The Enforcers
“My brother got taken out, but I’ll beat you two clowns myself”
Jesse, looks like we’ve got a two on one
Bubba Ray fighting for his team’s survival alone
Double clothesline
Atomic drop into Zbyszko
Look at that tag team work Ross!
Double slam
Zbyszko punching and talking trash
Anderson raking his laces against Bubba’s face
C’mon ref, do they need any more advantages?
Did you hear that sickening thud?
Piledriver!
Zbyskzo makes the pin
And The Enforcers get another lucky break to advance
Man, Ross, take a look at D-Von in the back. -Jesse, is that a phone???
Breakdown – Enforcers – 121 votes (76%) def. The Dudley Boyz – 38 votes (24%) This was the biggest shocker for me. I could see how the Enforcers could win, but I didn’t expect such a big margin. I now think I’ve come up with a plausible way for them to win the entire tournament…or at least make the Fatal Four.
(2) Legion of Doom vs. (3) The Rock n Sock Connection
Hawk chopping Rock in the corner
Big right hand, King!
JR, Rock’s calling Animal out
Spinebuster by the Rock
Corner knee
Double arm DDT
Animal gets right up and boots Mankind in the mush
Hawk slugging away
High fistdrop
Hawk will soar
Mankind ducks and makes the tag
Samoan drop
Rock has the sharpshooter on
Hawk send Mankind into Rock
Mankind greets Hawk with some forearms
Mankind doesn’t seem Animal
Ooohh! He ate that clothesline
Animal with a big powerslam
Look at that impact
That’s it!
Legion of Doom advance!
Breakdown – The LOD – 104 votes (66%) def. The Rock n Sock Connection – 54 votes (34%). I didn’t expect Rock and Mankind to pull off the upset against one of the tournament favorites and voters didn’t buy their chances either in one of the more lopsided second round matches.
East Region
(1) Hart Foundation vs. (4) Sting & Luger
Big lockup here
Dropkick by Sting
Hitman makes it to the ropes
Sting bounces off Anvil
Luger and Anvil trying to intimdate the other
Double clothesline
Anvil sends Luger right to Hitman’s knee
Anvil picking up Luger like a small child
Sharp elbowdrop
Hitman with a backbreaker
Powerslam by Luger
High elevation on that elbowdrop
Sting goes for the splash

Spinning neckbreaker to The Stinger
Russian leg sweep by the Hitman

Luger slings Hitman to the corner
Stinger howls
Stinger Splash!

Sting and Bret’s heads collide
Sting is woozy
But he falls on top of Hart
Sting and Lex advance
Breakdown: Sting and Luger – 82 votes (52%) def. The Hart Foundation – 76 votes (48%). This one was a close battle. Ultimately, I think it came down to Sting and Bret cancelling each other out and voters giving Luger the edge over The Anvil. I had a lot of fun with this as it featured my two favorites: Hart and Sting.
(2) Demolition vs. (3) Money Inc
They’re pounding away Jesse!
Slingshot

Jimmy Hart just grabbed Smash’s leg

Crush is ready
There’s Sags! He just hit Crush with a steel chair
