Titans Annual #2

titans annual 2 cover

Keeping in line with classic Teen Titans stories, Titans concludes its big final arc of this current run with Titans Annual #2. Nightwing, Flash, Arsenal and Donna Troy have to put their differences aside to stop Brain before he becomes a superior level intellect capable of completely changing reality.

It always seemed like writer Dan Abnett was stretching this story out to a degree and that definitely felt like the case with the way too simple resolution. With Titans set for a reboot, it didn’t make sense for Abnett to rush in another arc so it makes sense

Joining Abnett this issue is artists Tom Grummett and Tom Derenick with inkers Cam Smith, Mick Gray and Trevor Scott. That makes for a somewhat visually disjointed issue, but Grummett and Derenick are quality pros so their pages look good.

This was an underwhelming conclusion to a storyline that never really clicked. It’s recommended only for those who have already been invested in this era of the Titans.
