Justice League: No Justice #2
One of my all-time favorite comics was the Jack Kirby Super Power mini-series. Before I became a regular Justice League reader it was those books that featured so many of my favorite characters in one comic.
Fast forward to 2018 and Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV and Joshua Williamson are creating that same kind of spark with No Justice #2. Various members of the Justice League, Teen Titans and Suicide Squad are forced to work together to prevent four immensely powerful beings from wiping out the galaxy.
Some of the most fun in this saga so far is the team combinations like Batman, Beast Boy, Lobo, Lex Luther and Deathstroke. This leads to clashes with individuals who are hardly used to working alongside each other, let alone trusting one another.
Even with so many of the heavy hitters dealing with the mission Braniac assigned them, one hero still on Earth might yet play a major role in the proceedings. And this is one character who seems to have been forgotten with the upcoming slate of team lineups so it’s nice to see them have a prominent role in No Justice.
Francis Manapul gets some art assistance from Marcus To this issue. To is a smart choice as his style compares favorable to Manapul’s beautiful artwork. The crush of the weekly schedule might have been too much for Manapul to handle by himself, but the art doesn’t suffer.
Just like last issue, Snyder, Tynion IV and Williamson deliver another killer cliffhanger. This book doesn’t stop delivering from the first page to the last. Fortunately, No Justice doesn’t require a ton of patience as I’m eager for the next issue to see what happens next.
