Interview with Upgrade director Leigh Whannell
If you’re into modern horror thrillers, you’ve probably been a big fan of Leigh Whannell’s work. Whannell, the co-creator of Saw and Insidious, is tackling a new genre with his latest film, Upgrade, which he directed and wrote.
The film has a very interesting concept of a quadriplegic (Logan Marshall-Green, Spider-Man: Homecoming) who thanks to a chip that allows him to walk has the chance to avenge his wife’s murder.
Whannell made the promotional rounds in Washington, D.C., and I spoke with him about Upgrade and the potential horrors of technology.
Here’s the amazing trailer for Upgrade, which will probably pique your interest.
