Comcast ends bid for Fox paving way for X-Men and Fantastic 4 to join MCU

Comcast released a statement ending its monkey-wrench throwing bid for the 20th Century assets. The cable company was the last obstacle for Walt Disney Pictures acquiring the Fox properties. More importantly for comic book fans, this means Marvel Studios will be able to incorporate the Fantastic Four and X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

‘Comcast does not intend to pursue further the acquisition of the Twenty-First Century Fox assets and, instead, will focus on our recommended offer for Sky,’ Comcast said in a statement today.

While now it’s a matter of crossing T’s and dotting I’s, the MCU is about to get even more exciting. My main wish list all along with this deal was at least just one big epic crossover film featuring the Avengers, Hulk, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange.

What do you think? Are you as super excited as I am about this official news?
