Rogue One’s Cassian Andor to star in Disney+ Star Wars series
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was unexpectedly the best Star Wars film since Disney took hold of the license. Thanks to some big time spoiler reasons, further installments were out of the question, but a prequel? Yes please. Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed Cassian Andor will be the star of the second Disney+ Star Wars series.
Diego Luna is set to reprise his role as Cassian thankfully so we don’t have to deal with any recasting. Cassian made for a great addition to the heroic scoundrel ranks of the Rebellion. The series will focus on Cassian’s adventures in the early days of the Rebellion.
That should make for great material for a series as we can watch an idealistic Cassian become increasingly jaded in the war. While it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for the rest of the Rogue One crew to show up, hopefully Cassian’s droid K-2SO will quickly be introduced.
