Justice League #15

James Tynion IV is having a blast proving Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl and John Stewart can be every bit as entertaining as the Justice League’s other Big 3.Fighting their way through Thanagar Prime, Martian Manhunter leads the group on a daring rescue of a rare Martian survivor. But why does Sheyera Hol want to stop them so badly? The answer is a welcome surprise.Along the way, Tynion showcases some fun use of the trio’s powers and personalities. It’s nice to see how John Stewart values playing by the rules and respecting authority compared to some of his teammates.

Jim Cheung handles the bookend segments featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman trying to keep Starman from spazzing out. It’s a nice appetizer and a reminder of the artistic talent working on the title.

That also applies to guest artist Stephen Segovia, who’s work has never looked better. Segovia has shown some major improvements since his days on Action Comics. It’s nice to see him rewarded for his steady line work and animated characters with such a high profile gig.

With the way this arc has played out I’m kinda hoping Tynion and Scott Snyder put a spotlight on The Flash, Cyborg and Mera as well.
