CW renews Arrowverse shows, Black Lightning for next season

The CW was the best thing to come for DC TV fans. The network doesn’t jerk the fan base around, sticks to a pretty consistent schedule and rarely has a will they/won’t they status when it comes to show renewals.

It’s not even March, but CW announced all of the Arrowverse shows — Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl — have been renewed. No stringing fans along and prompting online campaigns and petitions. It’s just a done deal.

Arrow will be back for an eighth season followed by six for The Flash. Legends and Supergirl return for their fifth seasons.

Fellow DC show that so far remains out of the Arrowverse — Black Lightning — will also return for a third season.

The renewals come even as The CW is considering a Batwoman series. I’m assuming Batwoman is essentially a lock so it’ll be interesting to see if Batwoman gets paired with another hero show’s night, (possibly Sundays with Supergirl?) or gets featured on its own night.

Also Supernatural will be back for a 15th season. At some point we’ve got to get a Supernatural/Arrow crossover, right?

What do you think of the renewal news?
