Howard the Duck, Hit-Monkey, Dazzler and more getting Hulu animated series
We’ve had the Avengers on the big screen, then the Defenders on Netflix and now it’s time for The Offenders. Hulu is getting in on the Marvel money with four animated shows, including Howard the Duck, that will culminate in The Offenders.
Howard the Duck is the only one of the bunch that’s debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Let’s all just happily forget the live-action solo Howard film from 1986. Howard was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy stinger and was featured in the credits of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He’s a character that’s probably better suited for a cartoon unless Marvel Studios found the right filmmaker to do the character justice on the big screen beyond cameos.
Joining Howard are a unusual assortment of characters: Hit-Monkey, Tigra and Dazzler and M.O.D.O.K.

Here’s the descriptions per The Hollywood Reporter.
• M.O.D.O.K. centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body, who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also executive produce.
Tigra & Dazzler Show is interesting as this pairs a longtime Avenger with a semi-regular X-Men member. The characters both have a lot in common though in terms of liking the spotlight so this could be fun. I’m curious if the animation styles will vary with these shows. As the only one to feature a human character, it’d be nice to have a slightly different style of animation. Maybe with more of an anime vibe? For us Marvel Legends collectors, this should hopefully speed things along for a better Tigra and our first Marvel Legends Dazzler figure.
MODOK has become sort of a fun character lately and I could see this becoming the surprise hit of the bunch. Hit-Monkey is too goofy of a premise not to be entertaining and Howard the Duck should be the reliable enjoyable series. The team-up sounds crazy and I’m wondering how they could save something or need to save anything without the Avengers making the save first.
Hulu is in the process of being purchased by Walt Disney so it’s probably a safe bet these shows will eventually end up on Disney +.
