DC Universe unveils a comic perfect Stargirl image and comics service expansion

DC Universe is starting to build some positive buzz. Titans was better than advertised. Young Justice was great of course and Doom Patrol is enjoying great reviews. Soon the streaming service will debut its Swamp Thing and Stargirl series.

James Wan is producing the Swamp Thing series, which debuts May 31.

I’m most excited about Stargirl because I’ve always liked the character and the news it’s going to include the Justice Society of America. That’s exciting. Yesterday, DC Universe revealed its first look at Stargirl and it’s a movie-quality translation. Funny when a comic costume is done at a high level how great it looks, right? Brec Bassinger looks spot-on as well. stargirl-1

What’s really cool is in the background, we get a teaser of S.T.R.I.P.E. I wonder if we’ll actually see Pat suit up or if this will just be a dusty relic in a warehouse?

We’ll have to wait a bit longer on Stargirl as it will debut early 2020.

I’ve had some issue with DC Universe’s comics selections as it left a lot to be desired in terms of complete runs. Now, DCU will be adding more comics starting in April. DCU expects to have over 20,000 soon, which is a great deal and perfect for folks who want to check out some titles they never considered previously.

DC Universe subscribers will also be able to check out Season 1 of Krypton on April 5 and Justice League vs. The Fatal Five on April 16, the same day as it hits 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD. Young Justice: Outsiders resumes July 2 and Season 2 of Titans arrives this fall.
