Teen Titans #29

teen titans #29

The Terminus Agenda has really set some interesting developments underway for both Deathstroke and the Teen Titans. Given their shared history this arc has more meaning and more significance than a random crossover.

Kid Flash is torn with his loyalties to the team and keeping Robin and Red Arrow’s prison a secret. I’m still not sold on writer Adam Glass’ take on Red Arrow, but he’s drastically improved on the team interaction and layers of secrets beyond just the newbies.

Deathstroke’s mind games arrive at the worst time as the team is already fractured and this could be what pushes them over the edge. I like the idea of Kid Flash as the moral compass as that’s consistent to his portrayal in the earlier run of the series and The Flash.

Glass also works in some major advances with other subplots involving the newer characters. They’ve always been the strongest aspect of his run as Glass can take them in any direction he’d like to best fit the story without them reading off from other portrayals.

Artist Bernard Chang continues to deliver. He makes his characters just exaggerated enough to show personality without making them look silly. Marcelo Maiolo is one of the busiest colorists around for good reason. This issue features more striking colors and gorgeous lighting choices.

Teen Titans keeps improving each issue and with this cliffhanger the book is heading to a very interesting path. Terminus Agenda concludes next week in Deathstroke #43.
