DC comics reviews for the week of 4/24/19

The Terrifics #15

the terrifics #15
I’ll admit this was the comic I was most anxious about reading this week. The Terrifics is the last book standing of DC’s New Age of Heroes line and the one that’s
been one of DC’s most consistently enjoyable books since it began.
Writer Jeff Lemire stepped away, but DC found a more than capable replacement in writer Gene Luen Yang.
Yang has lost none of the charm and easily maintains the feel of the book Lemire established. The characters don’t sound drastically different and established subplots still carry over smoothly. Yang also sets up a pretty interesting adversary and new threat for the team. It’ll be fun seeing how The Terrifics deal with this challenge.
Stephen Segovia has steadily improved as an artist over the last three years to the point he’s become a really strong artist. I loved his take on the characters and think he’s a great fit for this era of The Terrifics.

No need to worry fans, this book is in solid hands despite the new creative team and every bit as entertaining as ever.
