Does Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer reveal how the Fantastic Four and X-Men join the MCU?

We got the new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer today and it gives us the first taste of a post Avengers: Endgame world will look like for the MCU. As well as a very tantalizing tease on how a few so far MIA superhero teams could join the MCU.

Tom Holland warns you, but before he does I’ll also give you a major warning not to view this trailer if you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame yet. This is clearly what The Russo Brothers were referring to when they said the “spoiler-embargo” lifts today.

Turns out that Far From Home subtitle didn’t just refer to Peter Parker’s trip overseas, but it’s a direct reflection of Mysterio, who’s from the Multiverse. Of course knowing Mysterio’s history as a longtime Spider-Man villain in the comics he could just be lying. Then again, what if he’s telling the truth? Maybe Kevin Feige doesn’t bother with an origin story for The Fantastic Four and X-Men at all and just brings them to the MCU proper after years of operating in the Multiverse?

For the FF that’s even easier as they do time travel and galaxy hopping all the time. It would be pretty fun seeing the FF arrive on a new world, one that has no knowledge of them as the First Family of Heroes.

We know Kevin Feige reviewed the X-Men: Dark Phoenix script. Who’s to say he didn’t suggest the ending have the team enter through the Siege Perilous, which transported them to a new world — the MCU proper Earth?

That’s pretty exciting to consider as well as the inclusion of Nick Fury in Far From Home. Fury was noticeably absent from most of Avengers: Endgame, but that explains why since Samuel L. Jackson can’t do three films at once. His role in Captain Marvel was more important than a cameo in Endgame anyway.

Anyway, we might get a good sense of how this Multiverse starts to play out when Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives in theaters July 2.
