Wonder Woman #71

wonder woman #71

Wonder Woman has to deal with the fallout of Atlantiades allowing a city to give in to its worst impulses. This is the kind of story that wouldn’t work with a lot of characters, but is perfect for Wonder Woman.

G. Willow Wilson writes a very compelling Diana. Wilson has a strong command of Diana’s voice to be so early in her run. I also love the seemingly randomness of Maggie in this storyline. She’s Diana’s new human ally who’s just tagging along for the ride and going on an epic adventure.

Xermanico’s artwork continues to be excellent. He brings out the majesty in Wonder Woman that makes her stand out and the portrayal of other characters is equally well done. Wonder Woman hasn’t really settled on a long-term artist, but the book could do a lot worse than retaining Xermanico.

This isn’t the most dramatic or action packed storyline, but Wilson’s Wonder Woman still makes for a worthy and entertaining investment.
