The future is now for Arrow as Katherine McNamara is signed as Season 8 regular

If there was one constant in Arrow’s seventh season it was the future storyline was one of the worst time shifts of the series.

I was hoping with Arrow’s eighth and final season, the focus would rightfully just stay on Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen/Green Arrow character but that’s not going to be the case.

Katherine McNamara, who played Oliver’s daughter in the future, will be back as a season regular. That means a good portion of the final 10 episodes will be spent on the future storyline that was such a drag last year.

McNamara’s character Mia also wasn’t the most likable of the future Team Arrow and I’m still leery of CW trying to make a spin-off of the future adventures of Team Arrow.

I’d love to see most of the season revolve around Oliver recruiting heroes across the Multiverse to stop the Anti-Monitor, but I’d definitely be less interested if Mia was his tagalong sidekick.

What do you think of the news? Excited that Mia will be back and be a big time player next season?
