The Terrifics #18

This current Noosphere Invasion storyline has probably ran a little too long, but it wraps up decently enough.

Writer Gene Luen Yang has the team split trying to stop the invasion on multiple fronts. Metamorpho and Mr. Terrific journey into the mind of the Noosphere while Phantom Girl and Ms. Terrific try to collect the renegade pieces of Plastic Man. Yang wasn’t able to make Noosphere a real credible threat, but the team dynamic keep the book engaging.

Artist Stephen Segovia had a rough outing this issue as his pages looked less polished than normal. That might be a result of sharing inking duties with Ray McCarthy.

The Year of the Villain tie-in brings in a curious opponent for the team. The Terrifics really only have one adversary so while this villain is a surprise it is nice to see another potential threat emerge.
