Tom Welling swooping back in as Clark Kent for Arrowverse Crisis crossover

With Brandon Routh donning the cape as Kingdom Come Superman and Tyler Hoechlin as the Arrowverse Superman it made sense to get the man who started it all on the CW. Tom Welling will officially be back as Clark Kent on the mega Crisis on Infinite Earth crossover.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville,” EP Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

According to the CW Crisis will reveal what happened to Clark in the decade since Smallville wrapped.

That’s big news and I’d love to see other Smallville alumni like Eric Durrance as Lois Lane and Phil Morris’ Martian Manhunter back as well. Even a half second from Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow would be amazing. This is really shaping up to be the CW’s version of Avengers: Endgame. I’m curious what they’ll be able to do to top this as this already sounds like the most incredibly ambitious project on the TV scale we’ve ever gotten.

Crisis kicks off Dec. 8 with Supergirl, then Dec. 9 on a special edition of Batwoman followed by the Dec. 11 episode of The Flash. The crossover concludes Jan. 14 with Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
