DC Comics reviews 2/19/20 – Justice League #41, Batman #89, DCeased Unkillable #1
Nightwing #69
Nightwing now knows the truth about his altered memory and he’s going to The Court of Owls for answers.
If it felt at times that writer Dan Jurgens was taking his time with the amnesia arc that’s over and he’s blazing into the next direction that seems ripe with storytelling possibilities. Jurgens even starts working in some of Dick’s trademark humor. Of all the storyline casualties from Dick losing his memory, his lack of optimism and well-timed jokes was a big one.
Ronan Cliquet seemed excited about focusing on one Nightwing again after juggling an unofficial team book. The action sequences were crisp with a good flow of Nightwing’s movements.
Smartly, Jurgens isn’t dropping everything from the amnesia arc, which probably bodes well with the tease of the pending Joker War through the Bat Family titles.
Nightwing has been steadily trending upwards and with the big shakeup to the amnesia arc things look like they’re about to get even more exciting.
