Power Rangers Lightning Collection Putty Patrollers figure review – Hasbro Pulse exclusive
Hasbro has done a great job with its Power Rangers Lightning Collection and I’ve surprisingly been a hardcore collector of this line. One area that was kinda lacking was the army builder. The Mighty Morphin crew regularly beat up the Putty Patrollers, a squad of occasionally formidable goons. Hasbro decided to make a Putty, but packed him with the Green Ranger figure. This was not a winning army builder strategy.
Finally, Hasbro came around and released a two-pack of Putty Patrollers. And being the ideal sucker for army building, I happily grabbed two sets to at least have one Putty per Ranger.
Packaging: This packaging is different from the standard Lightning Collection setup as the figures aren’t visible.
The front is a mostly grey color scheme with an image of the Putty Patrollers. It does a great job of conveying a sense of an army. The sides feature the same image and the tear shows two of the Puttys and their accessories. As always I wish this line featured some bio/write-up.
Likeness: The highlight of the figures are the terrific head sculpts. They have a creepy old school horror creature vibe toned down by the light grey color scheme. I really dig the sunken eyes, the furrowed brow and upturned mouth.
There’s also the excellent granite sculpting on the hands, which have a terrific amount of details.

Scale: The Putty Patrollers are goons and don’t need to be towering giants and their average height is just fine.
Paint: As mostly grey characters, I wasn’t expecting much from the paint job, but there’s a decent amount of paint work here.
Articulation: The Putty Patrollers move just as smoothly as every other Ranger figure in this line. I appreciate the articulation consistency as it’s not like others where some move better than others. If one can do it you know what to expect from the others.
Putty Patrollers have:
- neck
- shoulders
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- hip
- knee (double-jointed)
- ankle
Accessories: The Putty Patrollers have a good amount of accessories.
They come with mace and blade attachments that fit on either hand.
There’s also red and yellow blast effects. The yellow one attaches to the torso of the Putty while the red attaches to the blade.
I wish the yellow were more consistent as I like the darker portion in the attachment piece. The blast area is more of a pure yellow.
Worth it? At $30, Hasbro makes the Putty Patrollers a great bargain for an exclusive. That’s cheaper than buying Puttys separately. It made buying two sets an easy decision and I’m thinking another set isn’t a bad idea.
Rating: 10 out of 10
I like the easy to army build format of a grunt two-pack and Hasbro stuffed this with a bunch of goodies to make for an affordable and quick way to stack the odds against the Power Rangers.
Where to get it? I ordered Putty Patrollers from Hasbro Pulse the moment they came up. came up for pre-order, but she’s sold out now. As always Amazon is an option if you don’t mind paying the mark up.
