It’s looking more and more like Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is going to be a major player in the next Phase of Marvel Studios films. Perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence he spent so much time with Tony Stark in Avengers: Infinity War since it looks like he’s going to be taking his spot in more ways than one.
The latest news from THR reveals Doctor Strange will be playing the latest mentor for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the yet to be titled Spider-Man 3. Last week it was revealed that Jamie Foxx will be back to reprise his role of Electro though that was in the Andrew Garfield-led The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Doctor Strange’s arrival indicates there will be more fallout from the Doctor Strange sequel Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which seems increasingly like Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige’s method of bringing in actors from non-Marvel Studios films that he liked into the Marvel Studios fold.
This seems the obvious way to incorporate Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and maybe any other Feige favorites. Maybe Chris Evans as Johnny Storm? I kid…sorta.
Spider-Man 3 and Multiverse of Madness are both reportedly set to start shooting later this month.
