WWE Legends Series 7 Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan figure review
Bobby “The Brain” Heenan is unquestionably the best manager of all-time. But every so often he’d step into the ring with his charges or in solo matches against some of the guys he’d antagonized over the years. For the WWE Legends 7 Bobby Heenan, we get the wrestling version of The Brain with the typical symbol of his defeats — his weasel suit.
Packaging: I love the gold, brown and yellow color scheme of the Legends line. The big WWE Legends logo on the insert is a really nice touch. Mattel did some weak photoshopping of the earlier Bobby Heenan images with his jackets, but they tried.
The bio does a great job of explaining the significance of the weasel suit — something I wish were the norm for all figures.
Likeness: Bobby gets a slight head sculpt upgrade with the True FX enhancement although Mattel did an outstanding job with his earlier figures so it’s not as major as with some other figures.
Heenan’s body is solid. Mattel went with a sculpted singlet, which is fine for him. Maybe he’s a little more defined than he was at this point in his career, but I don’t expect Mattel to create a new torso for wrestler version of The Brain.
The only questionable area with the figure is the shins, which use the pants mold complete with wrinkles.
That’s a weird move and one of those areas where Mattel needs tighter quality control on part use.
Yeah, we all probably have standard shins to swap out, but it’s not something that should fall on the customer. This isn’t always the case, but I was also annoyed with the mold line from the neck to right shoulder split as the glue didn’t hold.
Scale: Bobby was 6’, much shorter than the 7’4” Andre the Giant and a bit shorter than the 6’3” Rick Rude.

Paint: Mattel looks like they’ve managed to get the platinum blonde shade of hair now, which is essential for The Brain.
The rest of his paintjob is basic with just the black singlet and boots. Mattel doesn’t have trouble with intricate attire so it’s no surprise this was fine.
You can appreciate the TrueFX upgrade to the figure over the previous Heenan figure.
Articulation: The Brain wasn’t known for his proficient wrestling ability, but he could do a little damage with some well-timed kicks, punches and chokes.
That’s all you really need out of this figure although hypothetically you could pull off more moves.
Bobby Heenan has:
- neck
- bicep
- ball-jointed shoulders
- elbows
- wrists
- wrist hinge
- waist
- hips
- thighs
- knees (double-jointed)
- ankles
Accessories: The big accessory this time is Brain’s weasel suit. In the WWF this debuted when Brain started battling Ultimate Warrior. Brain actually did this gimmick match in the AWA in matches against Greg Gagne.
This is a full length cloth suit complete with a tail. That is hilarious to me and a tremendous gimmick attire and absolutely a fun addition to the line.
Additionally, he has two additional pointing hands.
Worth it? Bobby is available for $20. Considering the quality of the weasel suit that’s not a bad deal.
Rating: 8 out of 10
I’d probably prefer a red jacket Brain over the Weasel suit, but this is a fun figure let down by a few odd part choices although I’m more likely to just keep him displayed in the Weasel suit.
Where to get it? I’ve just started to find Legends Series 7 at Target stores. He’s also available on Target.com. You can pay a mark up on Amazon if your Targets are terrible.
