James Tynion revisits Batman and Ghost Maker’s past with some interesting discussion about the ultimate futility of Batman’s war on crime.

Ghost Maker is a formidable adversary and should make for an exciting long-term addition to the cast. His dynamic with Batman is different than most characters and brings a longtime friend dynamic in the mix.

A cadre of artists work on this issue from Carlo Pagulayan, Danny Miki, Alvaro Martinez and Christian Duce. That’s a lot of artists but the flow isn’t as jarring as it might seem with no weak link among the artists.

Tynion wraps this arc is a surprising way given the earlier tone. It’ll require a second reading to see if this shift works, but it’s an interesting direction for Tynion take that I’m curious to see if it pays off. Tynion hasn’t been afraid to go against expectations and has done a good job world building so early in his Batman book.
