Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley and others pay tribute to Paul Orndorff
I’m still watching a Saturday Night’s Main Event headlined by Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff so it’s pretty sad to hear he died today at 71.
Orndorff was one of my 80s favorites and hated. His heel turn on Hogan easily remains one of the Top 5 best. He and Hogan had some legit bangers including the steel cage double drop instant replay finish.
I was thrilled when he joined WCW as one of the Dudes With Attitude alongside Sting, Junkyard Dog and Lex Luger. He had an underrated great match with Arn Anderson and remained a player in WCW through 1995 including a fun tag team with Paul Roma. And his makeover at the end of his career was a highlight in the pre-nWo era.
Here’s some of the tributes from Orndorff’s peers and fans.
Just got slammed with the Paul Orndorff news,RIP my brother, love you and thank you for always making me fight for everything in our matches, heaven just got even more Wonderful, love U4LifeHH

Paul Orndorff was the first wrestler I hated & feared as a child. I was at the Big Event in Toronto. Changed my life. Years later the morning before WrestleMania 21, I trained with him and Hulk. I was a little kid again. One of my fondest memories. Thank you for all of them Paul. pic.twitter.com/h7crlyHme6

Paul was such a big part of why I was a WWF fan back in the day. His run on the old SNMEs were incredible. He had the best feud with Hogan. RIP Mr Wonderful.
