DC Comics reviews 7/13/21 – Infinite Frontier #2, Rorschach #10

Justice League Last Ride #3

At this point, Justice League Last Ride is a far better Justice League read than the main Justice League title.

Writer Chip Zdarsky actual understands how the League members should sound and stays consistent with how they’ve been written. This is a League that’s experienced some hardships, but they don’t sound drastically out of character.

The team has taken Lobo to Apocalypse in hopes of having a sanctuary of sorts before the universe comes for retribution against the Main Man. It really makes a major difference to have the League respond to the threat in a logical manner without sounding like they’re enjoying their work break.

Artist Miguel Mendonca draws a classy Justice League. Mendonca’s pages are clean, his characters are posed naturally and their expressions fit exactly as expected.

Last Ride started out like a fun diversion, but Zdarsky and Mendonca make the case that they’d be an upgrade over the current Justice League team.
