DC Comics reviews 7/13/21 – Infinite Frontier #2, Rorschach #10

Writer Tom King is on information sharing mode this issue. There’s no plot equivalent to twiddling his thumbs here. Rorschach is reaching its conclusion and King is able to wind the series down without any more filler.
Given the flow of key plot points through two characters that have pivotal introductions this issue, King seems to have everything going according to plans.
The detective has made some crucial connections with the assassination attempt that potentially links some other unexpected parties. Rorschach was probably an excellent eight issue story spread out to 12 issues.
Artist Jorge Fornés has never been a problem in this equation and his work is as compelling and intricate as it’s been since the first issue.
Fornés sells so much emotion just from a wayward glance of a character with their body language offering unintended clues. Dave Stewart continues to fully capture the mood beautifully as the story shifts through various stages of flashbacks.
Rorschach feels in a much better place than King’s other 12-issue maxi-series reaching its conclusion with Adam Strange.
King is on the home stretch now and there’s a definite sense of momentum that he’s going to stick the landing with these upcoming final two issues.
