AEW Unrivaled Kenny Omega review – Wave 4
Kenny Omega is now in the position a lot of experts assumed he’d be in at the start of AEW as the world champ. Before reaching the mountaintop, he spent most of the pandemic era in a tag team with Hangman Page.
That’s the focus of the Wave 4 Kenny Omega figure, the latest of what will be many versions of The Best Bout Machine in the AEW Unrivaled line from Wicked Cool Toys/Jazwares.
Let’s see if this figure warrants a spot on my shelf or makes me wish it goodbye and good night.
Packaging: Same thoughts as always here. The black/gold packaging is eye catching while the side panels are largely useless thanks to the tiny picture and lack of figure identification text.
Flip to the back and a nice reference picture is included, but the lack of a bio or stats hurts.
Likeness: It’s looking like Omega is going to be the tricky one for the sculptors to really nail the likeness.
The first figure’s headsculpt was pretty good though hindered by the pale skin tone.
With this one, the packaging image shows exactly what WCT/Jazwares was going for although it’s a little off.
Honestly, the likeness isn’t bad so much as it’s the hair. This is one of those cases where it’s so off it kinda messes up everything. It’s sculpted too high and poofs up in a way to give Omega helmet hair.
The expression is pretty solid although these intense head sculpts work best as one of two options like we got from other figures in this wave.
Thankfully, WCT/Jazwares took the time to invest in some dedicated bodies for some of these guys. Omega’s ripped physique doesn’t have to be compromised to share the same torso with Cody or the Young Bucks.
Scale: Omega is average height at 6’ but for some reason the 6’2″ Jon Moxley looks like a giant in comparison. Omega matches up better with the 6′ Hangman Page, 6’1” Cody and The Young Bucks at 5’10” and 5’11”.

Paint: This attire is based on Omega’s match against PAC. I appreciate how quickly WCT/Jazwares has fleshed out a sizable AEW roster to re-enact most of the key matches from the first year and a half of AEW.
I like the detailing on this attire and the subtle airbrush-style application of the gold, silver, white and dark blue. The darker hues might make this harder for people to appreciate than some others, but it really turned out well.
Articulation: I really appreciate the extra poseability offered with the Unrivaled line. Double-jointed elbows seems so obvious, but they’re a gamechanger in terms of making moves easier to pull off.
The Unrivaled mold just needs butterfly shoulders to cement their status as the end-all/be-all for wrestling figure articulation. They’re very close, which is encouraging.
As with most figures, Omega’s move set is easier to pull off thanks to the semi-floating torso and wide range with the elbows and hips. Getting a full nelson pose to pull off the dragon suplex is still not possible though.
Kenny Omega has:
- neck
- bicep
- ball-jointed shoulders
- elbows (double-jointed)
- wrists
- wrist hinge
- torso
- waist
- hips
- thighs
- knees (double-jointed)
- ankles
Accessories: With his first figure, Omega had more elaborate ring gear even if it didn’t quite fit properly. This time he just has a basic vest that accurately has little detail.
He also has swappable grappling hands. I always appreciate those options. He’s not overflowing with accessories though so I really wish a neutral head was included even if it was just a touched up repaint of the Wave 1 head.
Worth it? I grabbed Omega for $20. That’s not a bad price although other Unrivaled figures give you more bang for your buck. Pun intended.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10
The tights and skin tone are an improvement over the first figure, but the hair sculpt still needs a little work. The great part of this line is the articulation and Omega definitely benefits from being able to pull off most of his move set.
Where to get it? Target has made collecting AEW Unrivaled so much easier. I’ve seen Wave 4 restocked three times at one nearby store so the effort is being made to get them out to collectors, which is all that we can ask for in a relatively new line.
You can still order the Wave 1 Kenny Omega now at Amazon.
