DC Comics reviews 8/10/21 – Rorschach #11, Batman ’89 #1

Infinite Frontier #4

infinite frontier #4

Infinite Frontier is playing out like an actual mystery mega event in the way that some other recent major DC storylines never accomplished. Writer Joshua Williamson has a lot of subplots at play here from President Superman and Flashpoint Batman having their own version of the World’s Finest. Mr. Bones gives Cameron Chase insight on his real agenda and Roy Harper reconnecting with the newly reformed Justice Society. And one ally is actively working to prevent the universe

It still doesn’t feel like enough story to warrant three artists. Paul Pelletier takes most of the issue. Pelletier is a very competent artist, but his style is a bit too smooth to work in this darker, more mysterious story. Xermánico and Jesús Merino also provide art for this issue.

There’s a big reveal at the end of the issue that falls a little flat die to the lack of clarity of the big villain’s identity. Infinite Frontier is one ideal fit at artist tackling entire issues away from really being an acclaimed title for DC. Each issue keeps delivering though and it’s making for one of the more entertaining books DC is releasing each month.
