Batman The Adventures Continue Season Two #5

The Adventures Continue remains the most fun Batman series on the stands.

In this issue, Batman catches Nightwing, Batgirl and Robin up to date on his longtime rivalry with the Emerson Mayfield, Gotham’s former mayor looking to reclaim his old position.

This is a smart setup from writers Alan Burnett and Paul Dini as they provide Batman with a foil who can’t be intimidated and knows how to work the media to get his message out. The political figure going against Batman isn’t new, but Burchett and Dini make it seem fresh.

Artist Rick Burchett keeps providing quality work that conveys the animated series visual. Burchett seems to had so much fun with Mayfield, a character with a ton of personality.

This was another fun installment of one of the strongest DC series going on now.
