AEW Unrivaled Jake Hager review Wave 6
It’s weird that it’s taken this long to get Jake Hager into the AEW Unrivaled line. Hager’s been the bruiser of The Inner Circle since the first episode of Dynamite. A few guys cut the line in front of him, but now the Inner Circle is complete. Let’s see how Jazwares delivered with the former All-American.
Packaging: Really nothing new here. I love the gold foil and the gold/black color scheme, but Jazwares needs to put in larger side portraits and do more with the back.
My preference is some stats and a bio. Adding the reference attire is a nice touch, but it’s really the only thing worth keeping with this current setup.
Likeness: Jazwares once again knocked out a stellar head sculpt. They probably could have gone a little thicker with the beard, but that is a very minor complaint. His figure has his tall, stocky build down nicely.
Scale: Hager is 6’7″ making him one of the taller members of the AEW roster. He’s easily the tallest of the Inner Circle with stable mates Chris Jericho at 6′, Santana and Sammy Guvera at 5’10” and Ortiz at 5’8”.
Jazwares needs to immediately make a better scaled Moxley as he’s ridiculously out of scale. Moxley is 6’2″.

Paint: Hager rocks a pretty basic attire so there wasn’t much to mess around with on that front. Jazwares didn’t quite pull off his hair color, which is more reddish brown than dirty blonde.
It throws the likeness off a bit. This is probably one of those deals where Jazwares will fix the hair color with subsequent releases.
Articulation: Hager is a bruising submission specialist with a focus on a MMA hybrid style. That definitely is aided with the Unrivaled articulation scheme.
Hager certainly could use butterfly shoulders, but his figure is able to pull off the majority of moves in his repertoire.

Accessories: Hager comes with a swappable set of fists.
As a submission specialist, the vice grip hands are necessary and it’s nice to have the alternative for brawls. Like Santana and Ortiz, I would have loved an alternate more intense head sculpt for Hager.
Finally, he has his hoodie.
It’s cloth and a nice fit without looking too snug.
Cloth accessories are always appreciated and this is set up in a clever way to make it easier to put on and off with the Velcro in the back.
Worth it? I grabbed Hager for $20. That’s not a bad deal at all given the articulation and cloth goods though with Hager, Jazwares really could have tossed in a shirt and pants for his alternate ring gear look as well.
Rating: 9.5 out of 10
More accurate hair color and one more accessory just hold him back a bit. Hager completes The Inner Circle and he’s just behind Santana and Ortiz in terms of quality.
Where to get it? I made the rounds to my local Targets where I kept finding Shida and MJF, but I finally tracked down Hager. As I’ve said before, it’d be so much easier to get these guys if they were readily available on Target’s website. There’s a relatively decent price available on Amazon.
