Mister Miracle Source of Freedom #6
Mister Miracle’s latest mini-series comes to a satisfying conclusion with this issue. Still, there’s definitely the feeling writer Brandon Easton, artist Fico Ossio and colorist Rico Renzi could easily keep this title going.
Shilo has his final conflict with N’Vir and only one will stand victorious. Along the way, Shilo gets an assist from some unexpected allies. Easton organically works in Shilo’s struggle to create his own legacy without the burden of Thaddeus Brown or Scott Free. It’s a thoughtful approach that makes Shilo feel more nuanced and layered as a character.
Ossio brings so much personality to his pages. Mister Miracle has a unique visual and Ossio’s kinetic style gives the book a strong identity. Renzi’s colors pop wonderfully highlighting the reds, yellows and greens.
Easton leaves the finale open ended enough to create an easy continuation point if he’s able to continue crafting new Mister Miracle stories. Given how this arc turned out, DC definitely needs to believe in miracles again.
