DC Comics reviews 12/14/21 – Wonder Girl #6, Robin and Batman #2

Wonder Woman #782

wonder woman #782

Wonder Woman and Deadman tangle with an army of mirror reflections while Steve Trevor and Etta Candy join the effort to stop the dupes from getting much further.

Writers Michael W. Conrad and Becky Cloonan are spending too much time on Dr. Cizko’s antics, which up to now aren’t really connected to Diana’s plot of returning Siegfried’s sword to his final resting place.

Cizko is playing the role of the online troll well enough, but he needs to be given a more active role instead of playing comic relief. Deadman has proven to be an unusual sidekick/partner and it’s making for some strong interaction.

Marcio Takara’s art style is a little rough — especially for opponents that shatter into glass — but he’s efficient in telling the story.

Wonder Woman is in a better place than it was a few months ago, but it’s still not at can’t miss status. Maybe this arc can help turn things around assuming Cloonan and Conrad pick up the pace sharper.

Rating: 7 out of 10
