DC reviews 2/8/22 – Detective Comics #1052, The Joker #12
Wonder Woman #784
Writers Michael W. Conrad and Becky Cloonan craft the final chapter of Through A Glass Darkly. Wonder Woman and Shining Knight battle The Image Maker’s dupes.
This arc never managed to reach another level and just felt like a series of Diana smashing mirror images of herself without any further progression. The identity of the Shining Knight is a decent payoff to this run and offers up some intriguing possibilities for the title after the end of Trial of the Amazons.
Marcio Takara’s artwork remains consistently strong with some creative layouts playing off the shattered glass theme. Tamra Bonvillain’s colors offer a soothing visual that conveys the fantasy elements of the title.
All roads are heading to Trial of the Amazons now and that might be a welcome change for a book that’s felt like it’s been running in place for too many months.
