DC reviews 2/8/22 – Detective Comics #1052, The Joker #12
I Am Batman #6
Writer John Ridley moves Jace out of Gotham. It’s a positive step towards making Jace’s Batman stand apart from the other Bat-themed vigilantes in Gotham.
With the new locale comes some unexpected carry over from Gotham with supporting cast members taking the train to New York as well.
Ridley looks to establish a new take on the vigilante/police dynamic by having Batman join a special task force. It’s a creation of the mayor who wants to avoid his city turning into Gotham. A sensible course of action.
Ken Lashley handles the art this issue bringing his smooth and easy to follow style. Lashley utilizes a thicker line approach making his characters look more prominent in pages. Rex Lokus uses his color choices to blend in with Lashley’s rougher, darker pages.
Getting the Fox family out of Gotham was a good start and with a new psychopath on the loose in New York, it should help justify the change of address for Jace’s Batman
