Action Figures News and Pre-Orders

Power Town Wrestling Figures announces exclusive contracts with DDP, Koloffs, Von Erichs and more

I’ve been very excited about Power Town’s upcoming legends line of wrestling figures.

In an interview with Wrestling Figure News, Power Town’s co-founder Steve Rosenthal shared some key information on scale, price point and future release strategies.

First up, the line’s first wave is still slated to get released by the end of the year.

Rosenthal expects the line’s summer Kickstarter goal to be reached quickly and offered new details on scale.

Figures will be properly scaled to each other Rosenthal said citing the difference between the 6’3 Lou Thesz and 5’11” Verne Gagne.

The figures will sport between 25 and 31 points of articulation, which should make them comparable to the Mattel Elite and Jazwares’ AEW line. Figures might come with extra hands and heads along with ring gear.

In wave 2, Rosenthal said it could focus on tag teams. That’s promising especially with the names lined up.

Now in the really intriguing news, Rosenthal announced Power Town has exclusive contracts with wrestlers and managers. Here’s who was announced:

  • Bobby Heenan
  • Magnum TA
  • The Von Erichs
  • The Koloffs
  • Tito Santana
  • The Vachons
  • The Poffos (with the distinction of Randy Poffo with Angelo and Lanny Poffo)
  • Tony Atlas
  • Bruiser Brody
  • Madusa
  • Rockin’ Robin
  • Judy Martin
  • Harley Race

Rosenthal said characters that are signed with other companies could still see those figures released, but afterwards future figures would be made under the PowerTown banner.

In more encouraging news, Rosenthal said 12 jobbers have been signed as PowerTown recognizes their value. Iron Mike Sharpe has to be number one.

What do you think of these announcements? I’m looking forward to how far this line can go.
