Aquaman/Flash Voidsong #3

Voidsong makes a strong case for mini-series to stay in the sweet spot of three to four issues.

Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing’s Aquaman/Flash team up didn’t overstay its welcome, had a satisfying resolution to the threat against the planet while establishing a tighter bond with the League founders.

With most of the world comatose, Aquaman and Flash have to push past their differences to find a way to defeat The Void.

This is a good example of having a streamlined story still be highly effective in character development and solid action.

Vasco Georgiev’s art was solid throughout yet felt like Georgiev reached a new level during the action sequences. Rain Beredo’s color work provides a striking contrast to backdrops like the streets of Gotham, the Hall of Justice and Atlantis.

Aquaman and Flash don’t typically team up, which made their pairing here even more fun. This was an enjoyable three issue mini-series and well worth checking out for fans of either/or both characters.
