Titans United Bloodpact #3

Titans-United-Bloodpact-3

The latest TV-based — and only Titans book currently running in DC — reaches its midway point. Tim Drake’s quest to restore the memory of his teammates has proved fruitful though not without costs and casualties.

Writer Cavan Scott plays within the structure of this TV comics world while retaining enough of the classic Titans’ personalities to make for an easy read. Dick and Tim don’t sound like massive departures from how they’re traditionally written (see Dark Crisis Young Justice for a good bad example) and approach strategy and problem solving in a smart manner.

Scott does get that the team, even aligned with Jinx, is underpowered and adds a heavy hitter this installment. The big reveal is the actual malevolent force at play behind the scenes.

Lucas Meyer’s art is clean and easy to follow from panel to panel even in more complex action sequences. Tony Avina’s color maintains the dark hue of this corrupted world while letting bolder colors peak through as the Titans strike back.

Bloodpact remains entertaining while continuing to scratch that Titans itch.
