The Flash #798

The-Flash-798

It’s always a welcome sight to see Fernando Pasarin’s name on the credits of any Flash comic even if he’s providing the art for half the issue. The definitive artist of the amazing Jeremy Adams run only makes an issue that much better.

Pasarin tackles the first half with a bit of time passed since the last issue. Linda just gave birth and all is well in the West household until a certain New Gods character decides to make off with the little guy. Good thing Wally has some allies to lean on from Kid Flash, a fan favorite of his run, two JSA characters and one of the underrated teams from the New Age of Heroes.

Adams completely gets DC and if there was some doubt before it’s eliminated now with just these little nods to fans of other characters and titles. He has a comprehensive appreciation for what’s come before and what resonates with readers.

The same is true for Pasarin’s art. He always packs so much detail and emotion into his pages. His evolution as a storyteller has

Will Robson’s art doesn’t flow smoothly with Pasarin’s more detailed style. It’s fine in a more playful presentation and the book was laid out smart so Pasarin and Robson weren’t doing a few pages and swapping back and forth. Matt Herms’ color work keeps impressing taking full advantage of the characters at play to utilize vibrant colors to amplify a larger-than-life story.

It’s the last big hurrah for Adams’ run and he’s determined to make sure the fans of his tenure leave with a smile on their face. Don’t miss it!
