Masters of the Universe Masterverse New Eternia Two-Bad review
So that whole not really collecting the Masters of the Universe Masterverse New Eternia line has essentially hit the bricks. I’m all in with this line especially since I’ve been able to get a lot of figures for clearance. When you can get a quality figure like Two Bad for under $20, it’s hard to say no to investing in a line.
Two Bad is one of the not as classic (due to a lack of significant screen time on the cartoon) yet fondly remembered minions of Skeletor thanks to his/their unique gimmick.
Packaging: Despite the subtle rebranding from the Revelation line, the New Eternia theme is the same setup with just a different font. I appreciate the consistency.
The side art features a very defiant and confident Two Bad. Along the back, we get a very cool picture of him tangling with a sea squid.
The Masterverse bios are only rivaled by Mattel’s WWE line although the story being told is slowly giving MOTU the edge.
Likeness: Two Bad’s shtick is he was two captains Tuvar and Baddrah vying for control of the sea. In tracking down the Horde Prime treasure, they were cursed and merged together into one being.
When they’re not bickering with one another, Two Bad proves to be one of the Masters of the Universe’s most formidable opponents. Mattel truly embraced the two beings becoming one.
Tuvar’s side is smoother with an emphasis on his veins and musculature. He’s sporting a metallic gauntlet capable of making an impact along with a separately sculpted arm bracelet.
His head sculpt is terrific with three fins atop his head, a fierce expression to properly show off his fanged teeth and a lone earring on his right ear.
Tuvar is rocking an armor plating boot with elaborate design work along the cuff.
Baddrah’s portion looks even better with an emphasis on his scaly hide. I love how the sculpt isn’t a clean break between the two and now looks uneven and jagged like they were fighting being fused together. He’s got an amazing head sculpt as well with a one fin along the center, a snout nose, three protrusions along his forehead as well as a jeweled piece in place of eyebrows.
Baddrah has clear and scaled portions along his head. He doesn’t wear a glove but has a gauntlet. Baddrah also doesn’t wear a boot allowing his clawed foot to get some air. He does wear some armor along his shin in a slight reversal of Tuvar’s boot with the ornate detailing along the front strip.
As far as their shared parts, Two Bad rocks an armor chestplate with different components reflecting their battle style. Tuvar’s has circular studs while Baddrah’s side features more spike-like studs.
They’ve got a belt with a two-tone dragon/griffin with a flip of the spike and circular studs.

Paint: Two Bad has very rich colors that definitely pop. From the light blue Tuvar side to Baddrah’s deep purple accented by the silver, orange and mauve (?) armor bits.
Paint applications are clean throughout even on the dragon/griffin belt and more precise details like the studs and eyes. This is a very strong paintjob all around.
Scale: Masterverse figures are 7″ and Two Bad is the tallest character in the line yet. Baddrah is about a half head taller than Tuvar further conveying these are different characters sharing a body.
Articulation: Two Bad features 30 points of articulation, which is pretty good even though the articulation model lacks the smoothness of your average Marvel Legends figure.
He is able to hit a variety of dynamic poses in his battles against the Masters.
New Eternia Two Bad has:
- neck
- ball-jointed shoulders
- bicep
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- waist
- hip
- thigh
- knee (double-jointed)
- ankle
Accessories: Two Bad has a nice assortment of accessories. He’s got a blaster with some great detail work with paneling, dials and the grip.
Two Bad also has a maroon mace. This also has great construction with cracks to show it’s been through some seriously intense battles.
As always, he’s got his trademark shield, which also mirrors the merged imagery for Two Bad. The left side features ball rivets while the right side has more angular spikes and a gritty texture. Both sides also include plenty of battle damage. Two Bad has definitely been at the forefront of battles.
He’s also got swappable fists for when he just wants to pummel someone.
My favorite accessory is the axe with the two dragons mirroring Two Bad’s design with the right side sporting scales and the left side clean and clear.
The axe also has some impressive detailing with cracks and divots along the blades along with their wrapped tails forming the handle. There’s even a wrap along the bottom to make it look like a well-used weapon.
Worth it? Despite his deluxe status, I was able to get Two Bad for $16.49 definitely not a bad price for a MOTU figure — or any figure for that matter in 2023. He probably has just enough accessories and the dedicated sculpt to justify the deluxe price point though it was a no brainer to get him for less than the original price of $32.
