Wonder Con 2024: McFarlane Toys debuts DC Multiverse Classic Penguin, Starfire, Captain Boomerang

McFarlane Toys had a big presentation for its DC Multiverse line during Wonder Con 2024. Among the reveals were the next slate of Collector Edition figures. We’re getting a Classic Penguin and more modern Starfire and Captain Boomerang.

Of the trio, Penguin looks to be the standout. That’s largely due to having the most classic appearance. And the production shots haven’t done much to change my mind. This looks like it could rival or exceed the stellar DC Classics version from Mattel.

Classic Penguin

They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but they also say evil is as evil does. A master manipulator, the Penguin is usually surrounded by violent henchmen who do his bidding without question.

But when it comes down to a face-to-face encounter, expect him to unleash a deadly barrage from a variety of umbrella weapons and other ingenious devices – often taking the form of fowl. And when all else fails, the Penguin will fight as dirty as they come, hand to hand combat doesn’t ruffle his feathers at all.

Classic Penguin will fit in perfectly with the latest Riddler and Knightfall Batman. It’s probably time for a Classic Catwoman, Joker and Two-Face while they’re at it.

Starfire

Captain Boomerang
