Image Comics reviews 7/10/24 – Transformers #10, Geiger #4

Geiger #4

geiger #4

Geiger hasn’t missed since it’s started in its various formats. Writer Geoff Johns understands this brooding anti-hero needs a foil, or a lighthearted sidekick, to offset his gruffness. And now the series wouldn’t be the same without Nate the Knight. As for his other companion, Barney the two headed wolf? He’s in the hands of The Electrician, a bounty hunter who lives up to the name.

To get Barney, Geiger and Nate have to tangle with The Organ People — a subgroup that look like refugees from Mad Max. Artist Gary Frank stays in his zone putting Geiger and Nate into action in gorgeously detailed pages.

Frank has Geiger’s movements down perfectly in action sequences while Nate is more of a blunt object battering away until he gets the job done. Brad Anderson’s stellar color work is impeccable with the effects on Geiger’s glowing still looking sharp. Letterer Rob Leigh keeps the dialogue straightforward with a strong use of fonts for the sound effects.

Geiger #4 doesn’t disappoint. Johns appropriately raises the stakes with The Electrician, an enemy Geiger can’t dispose of as quickly as most of his other foes. Things are starting to heat up even further.
