Destro #2 comes roaring out pitting two major arms and resources factions at war with each other.

Writer Dan Watters has Destro rallying his Iron Grenadiers and M.A.R.S. while Tomax and Xamot hype up the Crimson Guard of Extensive Enterprises.
Both sides suspect the other of landing the first shot in their until now friendly rivalry. Watters leaves open the possibility that another player pitted them against each other.

Destro was already fully formed in Duke and Cobra Commander. Watters is doing right with the groundwork laid by Joshua Williamson, but the real surprise is how he’s written the Crimson Twins.

Establishing them as heads of one of the largest private militaries in the world was a savvy contemporary way to introduce another massive army into the Cobra ranks. Setting them up as business rivals of Destro also gives them another added bit of dangerous credibility.

Artist Andrei Bressan is locked in for the next salvos in this arms dealer war showing how formidable both armies are against the toughest armies. The one minor complaint is Bressan needs to amplify Xamot’s scar some more. Bressan’s shifting between the two armies was skillfully done offering a strong sense of the staging of these operations before they began.

Colorist Adriano Lucas keeps the action intense with reds, oranges, pinks and yellows that pop. Letterer Rus Wooton keeps the dialogue cleanly displayed with sound effect fonts sparingly used.

Destro #2 provided a stronger glimpse of what the creative team can do with these characters and this inspired scenario. There’s a solid cliffhanger that’s going to make the wait for next issue a long one.
