Star Wars The Black Series Fifth Brother Inquisitor review
One of the fun aspects of Obi-Wan Kenobi was seeing the Inquisitors in live-action form. Reva was all over to the point of being slightly obnoxious, but my favorite was The Fifth Brother and not just because he was played by my guy Han from Fast and the Furious.
The Fifth Brother debuted in Rebels, but he had the misfortune of encountering a vengeful Darth Maul. Before that fateful battle, the Fifth Brother was part of Darth Vader’s inner circle of inquisitors trying to track down the white whale of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Due to their seeming unwillingness to flesh out the Rebels roster, it might have taken several more years to get more Inquisitors from Rebels so I’m happy to get the version from Kenobi. Even if he never battled Obi-Wan in the series.
Let’s take a look and see if this brother is worth adding to the Imperial family or needs to be detained.
Packaging: I really appreciate the theme approach with a specific accent color for each film/series. Obi-Wan Kenobi’s series gets a light blue color scheme.
As always, the bio exquisitely summarizes the Fifth Brother’s role at the start of the Kenobi series.
Likeness: While there were a couple of interpretations available, Fifth Brother’s Black Series figure is based on his live-action appearance. That’s just as well since the animated characters get realistic portrayals anyway.
Mirroring their master, the Inquisitors are clad in black armor. Fifth Brother is the closest to Vader’s outfit with the thick interior padded outfit. His attire also has sculpted Imperial logos on either arm.
Of course, what stands out the most with him is his angular helmet. He’s also got a great head sculpt with a serious expression.
Paint: The armor is done in a slightly glossier black while the leather is in a flat black. All of the precise details like the armor light up panels are clean.
I dig the sickly hue of his skin tone as well.
Scale: Fifth Brother was just slightly taller than Reva so he’s looking up at Obi-Wan and Vader. He’s shorter than Darth Vader and Kanan Jarrus. He is taller than Ezra Bridger.
Articulation: Fifth Brother is a Jedi turned Sith-in-training so fluid movement is key for his figure.
He can hit deep duel poses and thanks to his larger than average feet maintains a pretty strong center of balance for more creative posing.
Fifth Brother has:
- neck
- ball-jointed shoulders (with butterfly joints)
- elbow (with swivel)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- hips
- thighs
- knees (double jointed)
- ankles
Accessories: The Fifth Brother comes with his trusty circular lightsaber.
You can detach the red saber blades and plug the lightsaber hilt onto his back.
Aside from detachable laser blasts that’s about all I could think of for a worthwhile accessory option.
Worth it? The Fifth Brother’s wave cracked $24.99 ensuring that I was going to wait for a sale to get it to a more reasonable price tag for me. Waiting paid off and I got him a whopping $10. Any Black Series figure is a good deal for that price and this is a really strong figure at the current price of $17.99.
Rating: 9 out of 10
Where to get it? Fifth Brother is still available at retail spots like Target. You can also grab him at Amazon and Entertainment Earth.
