Marvel Legends Gamerverse Spider-Man Miles Morales review – BAF Armadillo
Hasbro’s Marvel Legends team hasn’t committed too much to characters from the Gamer Verse section of the brand. How do we still not have a Mr. Negative from one of the best comic book video games ever? We do get another character with the title character of the sorta sequel Spider-Man Miles Morales.
Miles has been the rare character to endure in the same role after taking over for a white character. It’s a testament to his popularity and explains why he could headline his own video game spinoff. And that’s more than enough to warrant a new Marvel Legends figure, which essentially seems like the MCU version of Miles’ outfit.
Let’s see if this figure blasts me away or if he needs to start collecting cobwebs on the display.
Packaging: Unlike the usual Spider-Man waves, there’s a splash of white at the top to show the Gamer Verse distinction. I like this switch as it’s a nice break from the norm. The side and rear feature artwork from the game.
Given the video game nature of the figure, I won’t complain about the bio, which is perfectly serviceable in this instance.
Likeness: Spider-Man Miles Morales looks fantastic. Hasbro’s sculptors really knocked out his game attire.
All of the precise tiny details like the texturing is in place and the raised webbing and logo really stands out. The outfit features a generous amount of paneling as well, which is faithfully replicated with the figure.
This also carries over to the hands, which feature sculpted fingers with slotted segments along the wrists.
I really love the work on the head sculpt as well. The eye slots are perfectly scaled and the raised webbing gives that Tobey Maguire Spider-Man vibe.
I don’t think any of this figure was reused considering all of the paneling and new sculpting. The pinless arms and legs actually aid to making the figure look so smooth.
Paint: There are some tiny details here with the webbing and logo, but my figure sported an immaculate paint job.
Even the whites of his eye slots are vibrant with none of the black or red seeping through.

Scale: Miles is younger than the adult Peter in the game, but he’s not exactly a pre-teen. This body does a nice job of capturing a lanky Miles still growing into his body. And now I realize I probably should have gotten the Gamerverse Peter. He’s noticeably taller than the comic book Miles figure.
Articulation: Spider-Man Miles needs to be hyper poseable. Hasbro got his articulation scheme kinda right.
Miles can hit a good amount of his signature poses, but the range for his hip is restrained providing a frustrating barrier for crouching, kicking and web-slinging poses.
His butterfly shoulders are nice aiding in more carefree Spider-Man Miles poses.
Spider-Man Miles Morales has:
- neck
- ball-jointed shoulders
- butterfly shoulders
- bicep
- elbow (double-jointed)
- wrist
- wrist hinge
- torso
- waist
- hip
- thigh
- knee (double-jointed)
- ankle
Accessories: Spider-Man Miles comes with an alternate head sculpt.
It definitely looks more like the video game model although the skin tone is a little too dark to be a perfect match.
He also comes with three extra swappable set of hands. One is a set of fists; the other is sorta outstretched but not quite wall crawling, and the final is venom blast hands.
These are pretty cool and an actual new energy blast effect piece made of translucent yellow with energy crackles. The wide open and electric blast hands seem a little big for Miles’ frame.
Finally, Miles comes with the right leg of the Build-A-Figure Armadillo.
Worth it? Miles has a dedicated original sculpt along with some new accessories. With him you can at least see the above average work done to help justify the $22.99 price point.
Rating: 8.5 out of 10
Spider-Man Miles Morales has a great sculpt and looks…amazing. The leg/hip and ankle range does dinge him from getting more creative and iconic Spidey poses though.
Where to get it? Spider-Man Miles is slowly becoming expensive now. You can still grab him from Amazon.
